Joan Crawford Sandlin

Joan’s passion is in being a people-builder. She helps others reach their greatest potential using their power, presence, and polish. She equips others in skillful use of social and business etiquette, which leads to significant advantages in this competitive world.
Fresno, California has been Joan’s home for several years, and it’s where she recently re-instated the JCS School of Etiquette & Protocol. Courses are available to adults and youth, 3rd grade and up. Joan teaches in a friendly, non-threatening environment. Joan also speaks at retreats, conferences, and luncheons, where she shares “The Power in Doing the Right Thing”.
Joan also volunteers her time teaching etiquette skills to the underprivileged, through partnering with local non-profit organizations. It is her desire to help build their confidence and self-esteem, preparing them to re-enter the marketplace.

How Joan Got Started
Joan learned very early in life, through her southern parents, that polite behavior and mastering the art of etiquette gave her favor and opportunity.
She attended Lindenwood College for Women, in Missouri, graduate with a BA in Speech from the California State University, Fresno, and attained her Master of Arts in Education Administration from Pepperdine University. Joan is a former elementary educator, Head Mistress of a private school in Southern California and later, a Principal for the Fresno Unified School District.
Joan obtained her Business and Social Etiquette consulting and training certification from the prestigious American School of Protocol (ASP), in Atlanta, Georgia. She also gained her certification for training in Tea and Etiquette from The Bruce Richardson and Dorothea Johnson’s prestigious Tea and Etiquette Masterclass.
Newport Beach, California is where Joan began her first etiquette classes, teaching both children and adults. A short time later, she was asked to bring her etiquette background, as well as her special event planning skills to Beverly Hills and Hollywood; there her clients were celebrities, politicians, and TV and movie studios.
From the Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball, to a Hollywood Bash for 10,000, to a more modest 1,000-guest event for the international evangelist Luis Palau, all events energize Joan. She is happy to say her standard for entertaining is to make a wonderful, unforgettable experience for her guests.
